What's cooler than stuff? Free stuff! Yaaaay, free stuff, yaaaay... well, kind of free.
I've decided to have a little contest here where the winner of my choosing will receive my copy of "The Goods" from PDC 2008! That's right, the 160GB hard drive with all of those luscious, succulent bits, and the 3 Windows 7 installation DVD's (32-bit, 64-bit, and 7 Server). Since I haven't activated my 6801 install (and I won't be) with the key that came with the install DVD's, that means you will also have your very own legit Windows 7 product key. You'll be all set up!

So, what's the grab? Offer me something. The choice is yours! Offer whatever you want. Whatever comes to mind that you think I would like, go for it. Whoever offers the coolest and most valuable (it doesn't have to necessarily be anything of monetary value, just something I personally find valuable) whatever will get the goods. Simple as that! You could offer to promote my site or offer a service. You could offer ideas and/or knowledge that I would be interested in, unleaked Windows Longhorn or Windows 7 stuff (hehehe), your mom's famous bread pudding recipe, or that mysterious box in the attic your parents always told you to stay away from as a kid. Just offer something! Now, there are 2 VERY IMPORTANT RULES TO FOLLOW:
1 - You can offer as many things and/or change your offer as many times as you would like via comments to this post! If you leave a comment anonymously, please at least sign each of your posts with a name or something that I can identify you. Remember: Someone offering something that YOU think is more valuable may not necessarily be the thing I choose!
2 - You can email your offer to me. If you choose this route, then please take the time to think about your offer before you email it. I don't want 20 friggin' emails from one "Joe Mama" offering me a new trick or trinkett in every single one. Likewise, I don't want someone sending me 20 friggin' emails with a new offering every time they think it's better than the last one they sent, you know? You've got plenty of time to come up with whatever, so think it through! With that being said, I'm a reasonable guy, so if you send an email only to say to yourself a day later, "oh, crap... I really wanted to offer THIS instead," I'm not going to chew your block off; just don't do that a day later, every single day until the deadline. lol. =)
Email: uxevangelist [AT] gmail [DOT] com (you know what to replace, remove, etc.)
I will be keeping a list with people's names and their offerings. This contest is active as of now and your deadline is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2008! Comments or emails received after that date will not be counted. I look forward to hearing from all of you!
-Stephen
PS - Thanks for the initial idea, Tom. "Are you ready?" ;)

Is there a reason that you won't be installing 6801?
The only interesting thing I can think of right now would be a shrink wrapped never been opened copy of Visual Studio 6 Professional.
I'll have to dig through the my "collected stuffs" that my wife would rather I not keep as I'm sure I have some good stuff in there.

I changed my wording in that first paragraph. 6801 is actually a very solid build! Fortunately, I was able to get a hold of this build prior to PDC and spent a lot of time testing it (which I will be posting my review of soon), so I figured someone else out there would enjoy having these bits much more.
I learned in the past that using a non-rtm build as your main OS really can wreak havoc. lol. I don't dual-boot at all, so if I ever want to test it all out again, I'll just reinstall and use it through the evaluation time period or rearm it. =)

I've got a mint copy of 'The Good's from the 2003 PDC where they introduced Longhorn. Includes all the original DVD's.
Interested?
Ah, PDC 2003... I really wish I had been able to attend that one.
I would love to say "yes, I am interested" or "no, I'm not interested," but in the interest of fairness and ambiguity, I'm just going to let everyone hash it out for the next 2 weeks! Should be fun. =)
